Problem Analysis: Spirit of volunteerism is not so strong in the country. Limited understanding of AFGA constitution, vision, mission and IPPF standards amongst volunteers and staff. Limited national expertise on health management and organization development; hardly ant resource material available on organization development (OD) Urgent need for organization rebuilding especially after a long phase of conflict.
Strategic Direction: AFGA intends to be a center of excellance on orgainsation management, leadership and governance. I also intends to take a lead in disseminating and replicating these practices to other organizations in the South Asia Region.
Goal: Develop and maintain proper management systems in AFGA by providing good leadership and strong governance mechanism that will enable AFGA to accomplish its objectives and become a Centre of Excellance on OD.
Objective 1:
To strengthen organizational management system

Activities: Develop and follow progressive HR policies and procedures

Develop a lean and efficient organization structure with clear job descriptions for each position

Implement an efficient human resource management system that could track staff staff career development plans and achievements and help in achievements and help in instituting a transparent appraisal system

Establish and follow a sound financial management system including double entry book-keeping to enhance internal control and accountability

Develop and follow effective
monitoring and evaluation systems including regular progress review in
compliance with IPPF standards and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
Objective 2:
To increase capacity of AFGA staff and volunteers in the field of organisation development.
Activities:

Develop a volunteer induction
policy programme

Organise and conduct orientation training and worksop for AFGA staff and volunteers on IPPF vision, mission and programs and facilitate their active participation in planning, implementation and evaluation of AFGA programs

Upgrade the existing AFGA resource centre through provision of up-to-date guidelines and ensure internet facility to AFGA main office staff.

Introduce AFGA program staff and volunteers to regional and international events organized by IPPF and other related organizations.
Objective 3:
Ensure effective governance through volunteers and staff.
Activities: Organise executive committee and General Assembly meetings in compliace with AFGA constitution

Introduce AFGA executive committee members to study tours and information sharing events on leadership issues.

Introduce regular management review system through involvement of executive committee members

Enhance internal control and demographic decision-making processes through effective working of senior management team
