Project Sites in Nepal and Bangladesh

FPAN Project Operational Areas

The five operational areas were selected according the following criteria:

  1. Strong existing presence
  2. Densely populated
  3. Four out of the five districts share open borders with Northern and Southern parts of India, where the cases of domestic violence, dowry death and the notion of witch crafting is reported to be high
  4. Relative political stability and good communication were other factors.

Ethnicity : Although there is a diverse ethnic composition in all these districts, Hinduism is the predominant religion in all five operational areas followed by Buddhism and Islam.

FPAB Project Operational Areas

The four operational areas were selected according to the following criteria:

  1. A high incidence of GBV
  2. Concentration of ongoing activities in the areas
  3. Strong capacity of field volunteers for effective project implementation
  4. Strong links with communities, local institutions and partners.
