WINISIS (Windows based Information Storage and Information Retrieval System) is the software developed by UNESCO since 1985 to satisfy the need expressed by many institutions, especially in developing countries, to be able to streamline their information processing activities by using modern (and relatively inexpensive) technologies.

The SARO database has been created with WINISIS (Windows version of CDS/ISIS and uploaded using GenisisWeb, the web interface for CDS/ISIS.

Many documents in this database are available online in their respective formats.
