1. JOB PURPOSE |
|

To be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of the regional and country level projects funded through the Global Comprehensive Abortion Care Project (GCACP).
|
|
2. KEY TASKS |
|

A. TASKS:
4. To coordinate quarterly data collection and analysis of abortion related service statistics and submit Quarterly Service Statistics & Progress Report to M&E Officer, GCACP, CO.
5. To assist in the compilation of 6 monthly Performance & Financial Donor Reporting with SARO colleagues for submission to the GCACP team, CO.
6. To undertake 6-monthly monitoring and technical support visits to MAs including clinics to assess progress against approved M&E Plan.
8. To support the design and implementation of baseline/midline/and other surveys according to the approved workplan,
9. To work closely with SARO and GCACP, CO colleagues to conduct regular project reviews, the Mid Term Reviews (3rd Year Q1 of project period) and Final Evaluation – Year 5 Q4 or Q1 of the following year.
B. AREAS TO MONITOR/REVIEW
- Clinical service statistics-specific to abortion services (including post abortion contraception).
- QoC issues with regards to the provision of safe abortion services at SDPs.
- Implementation and monitoring of Clinic Management Systems
- Referral system with partner clinics – effectiveness of the system and quality of services provided to referred clients.
- Field activities: CBD, awareness and advocacy programmes both at community & national levels as per the approved work plan /M&E Plan.
- Relevance and effectiveness of trainings (both at Regional and MA level).
- Other activities – e.g. level of collaboration with government officials and other partners at clinic, MA and regional levels.

3. RESPONSIBILITIES |

· Participate in the monitoring and evaluation component of the annual budget of projects funded through the GCAC project.
· Monitor expenditure on monitoring and evaluation at Regional Office and MA level. |
|
c) advisory responsibilities carried out by the job holder. |
|
· To advise and update the Programme Manager, Safe Abortion and other colleagues on all aspects of monitoring and evaluation of the GCACP.
· To liaise with colleague(s) in Management Information Systems team at the RO to ensure accurate and timely submission of data form MAs implementing the GCACP. |
|
4. EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS |

The post holder must have a degree in a social science, development or health related subject, or equivalent standard of education.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to train / coach staff and give occasional presentations.
· Excellent written communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Excellent Information Technology skills.
· Fluent English essential. One other language desirable – Hindi.
